Summer Speech & Language Therapy

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Emerson College will be offering a 6-week speech and language therapy program to children/students in the City of Newton with documented need for services.

Children must be between the ages of 3 years old and 12 years old. Supervised graduate students in speech-language pathology will provide individual, one-on-one therapy, twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays beginning July 8th and ending August 14th for a total of 12 sessions.

All sessions meet at the Newton Educational Center on 100 Walnut Street on the 3rd floor. The fee is $375.00 for twelve one-hour sessions. read more »

Newton Community Farm Summer Youth Programs

Looking for summer programs for your children, preschool to grade 9? If so, check out Newton Community Farm's offerings at www.newtoncommunityfarm.org.

Back by popular demand, NCF will again offer Farm Sprouts, Little Diggers, Farmer in Training, and Socially Aware Young Farmers.

Preregistration is required for all classes. Registration closes one week before class start date.

JCC All-Star Swim Camp

Swimmers in grades 2-9 will have all aspects of every stroke broken down into simple stages during a week-long swimming clinic.

The camp will be led by JCC Karishim Swim Team head coach Adrian Eagles and will include instruction on turns and starts. Must be a Level IV swimmer or higher.

SouthEast Little League Registration is Open

Registration is Open for Newton SouthEast Little League's Summer 2013 Sandlot Season

Following the tremendous success of the Sandlot program last year, NSELL is pleased to announce registration for the Summer 2013 Sandlot Program for eligible 9-12 year olds.

Instead of forming teams with set rosters and coaching staffs, we will instead be conducting "Sandlot Baseball Nights" on two weeknights per week from the last week of June through the middle of August. We will provide shirts, hats, umpires, coaches and other game-related logistics. The objective is to give everyone a chance to have fun playing competitive baseball in a well organized environment. read more »

Attention Cat Lovers!

Girl Scouts in Oak Hill Troop 73004 are working on a community service project to assist the Cat Connection, a non-profit organization that rescues and finds homes for stray and abandoned cats in Newton, Waltham, Belmont, Watertown, Brighton and Allston.  We are collecting cat supplies (cat food, toys, kitty litter, etc.) and we are searching for foster and adoption homes for these cats.

If interested in donating, there are drop-off boxes located at Newtonville Pets and the lobby at Oak Hill Middle School until June 3, 2013.
