Almost everything we do today uses or relies on internet connectivity - from buying products to driving cars to properly functioning critical infrastructure. Securing these connections and systems is an ongoing battle with cybercriminals, hackers and state actors. In this session we will:
- Review basic concepts in cyber security
- See examples of the cat and mouse game between blackhat hackers and whitehat security researchers
- Learn about different tools and techniques used by commercial (and state) entities that try to infringe upon our privacy
- Discuss the ongoing struggle between counterterrorism and citizens’ privacy
Presenter Etay Maor is an executive security advisor at IBM Security where he leads security and fraud fighting awareness and research. Cosponsored by the City of Newton Department of Senior Services.
