An informative session on genetic counseling, including current research on the topic.This presentation will tell you more about the role of genetics in current healthcare, what the process of genetic counseling entails, and how genetic counselors can help individuals and their families understand health related risks.  Program leader is Kathleen Swenson, the Director of the Master’s Program in Genetic Counseling at Boston University School of Medicine.  Kathleen has been an active member of the genetic counseling field since 2000, and has a particular interest in expanding the models in which genetic counseling services are provided. This program is Part I of II in genetic counseling as part of our Inside the O'Briens Newton Reads program.
