The Newton Conservators is leading a one hour walk to Dolan Pond on September 30 & October 7. Dolan Pond is a hidden gem of West Newton and home to a wide diversity of bird, animal and plant life. Only a short walk from downtown West Newton, it has accessible trails and a boardwalk passing by several ponds (actually vernal pools). This free walk starts at the Newton Conservators table at the Saturday Elm Street Farmer's Market in West Newton at 11 am. On the short walk to Dolan Pond, you'll pass interesting examples of 19th and 20th century architecture and then explore the three major trails and ponds before returning to the market for your weekend shopping!
