Our  singers and players transport you to a Venetian palazzo, for a meeting of two great musical minds.  Hear Strozzi's amazingly chromatic and romantic madrigals for 2-5 voices and Monteverdi's similar, plus his amazing duets for both men and women ("Zefiro torno"!) and more.  With 6 singers, and special guests on baroque violin and gamba, and our own Catherine Liddell, theorbo/baroque guitar.

Cappella: Eve and Adam – a new take on a very old story

Rising MIT composer Elena Ruehr’s “Eve,” composed in 2014, takes its familiar text from Genesis, but rather than the traditional retelling, poses an honest question: was gaining knowledge of good and evil such a terrible thing? Arvo Pärt’s “Adam’s Lament” is more traditional in interpretation, though in Part’s signature haunting musical style.
