Comic Book Workshop Series Starts

In this series of workshops we'll learn about comic book drawing, story telling, structure, paneling and more!  Each meeting will focus on a different part of the creative process, and by the end you'll have a comic book of your own! Birding Class and Walk

Rain date Friday, October 20th, 9:00-11:00 a.m. Join Pete Gilmore at 9:00 a.m. for a talk about birding in Newton. At 9:30 a.m. we will carpool over to Cold Spring Park (Beacon Street in Newton) for a birding walk. We hope to see, and hear, some permanent resident birds as well as some fall migrants. The latter birds are on their way south. We will meet at the end of the parking lot accessed from Beacon Street. Go in the entrance, turn left and go to the end, near a small terminal circle. We’ll be back at the center by 11:00 a.m. Register with the Front Desk at 617-796-1660.

Bereavement Support Group

This group is a safe place to reflect on our losses (separation from or death of loved ones, end of life, etc.) We will explore meditations, writing, poetry, and simple rituals and share strategies for self-care and community support. Betsy Simmons is a holistic health educator, spiritual care provider, and mindfulness teacher who facilitates workshops in self-care, grief, bereavement, and legacy building.
