Newton at Home and the Scandinavian Living Center are thrilled to present the Newton Senior Center Chamber Ensemble, conducted by Newton at Home member, Gwendoline Thornblade, for a spring concert as part of the Newton Festival of the Arts.  Journey to Tuscany, composed in 2012 for this orchestra will be performed for the first time in the Boston area and Romanza, by Joseph Leonard, written 55 years ago to celebrate the wedding of a cellist in this orchestra will be featured. The program will also include Anton Dvorak’s festive Czech Suite and Henry Purcell’s Air and Gig from The Gordian Knot Untied for a surprising and delightful program.

The morning will begin with brunch in the light-filled Kaffestugan Café at the Scandinavian Living Center along with vocal entertainment from the Fessenden School boys choir.
