Historic Tour of Concord

  We will start our day at the Minute Man National Park and enjoy a multimedia theater show "The Road to Revolution" at the park's Visitor Center, which provides an excellent introduction to the events of April 19, 1775.  Next, we are off to explore local history!  We will see Walden Pond, historic homes, old burying grounds and visit the Old North Bridge.  Before heading home, we will let participants explore the down town area on their own where there are plenty of places to shop and eat!

Blues Fundraiser

Blues fundraiser to benefit Rosie’s Place in Boston! Join us at the Regent Theater in Arlington to enjoy the blues and help raise money.  This fun night includes well known entertainers such as, Lurrie Bell and Eddie Taylor Jr. Also starring, “Sax” Gordon Beadle, Sugar Ray & the Bluetones, Lisa Marie, Justin Quinn and Peter “HiFi” Ward. This evening also includes raffles, a silent auction and a few surprises.

Great Art by Little Artists Open House

The Suzuki Preschool of Newton will be hosting their 3rd annual "Great Art By Little Artists" Open House.  This is a wonderful opportunity to see our preschool transformed into an art gallery, where all the art is created by our preschool children.  They have interpreted famous artwork (i.e Georgia O'Keefe's Ladder to the Moon​; Lichtenstein's Pop Culture Art and Di Vinci's Mona Lisa to name a few).  Join us for a fun day of art, activities, refreshments, music demos, flute concert and outdoor play.  Bring the entire family and learn more about the Suzuki Preschoo

Nordic Kids Series: Paskris – Swedish Easter Tree

Drop in for the next installment of our Nordic Kids Series. This month we make paskris. We will decorate branches  with brightly colored feathers in a Swedish tradition to bring the sunshine inside and symbolize the coming of spring.

Company commander Claus Pedersen and his men are stationed in an Afghan province where they face the relentless pressure of fighting the Taliban while trying to protect the local civilians. Meanwhile back home, Claus’s wife Maria is trying to hold everything together with a husband at war and three children missing their father. During a routine mission, the soldiers are caught in heavy crossfire and in order to save his men, Claus makes a decision that has grave consequences for him and his family back home.

Workshop: Swedish Traditional Tunes

Two hours before her concert with Night Tree in the Nordic Hall, accordionist Sunniva Brynnel will lead a tune learning workshop with a focus on traditional Swedish tunes. All instruments are welcome. We encourage you to stay after for lunch at our Kaffestugan and for the Night Tree Concert at 1 pm.

Tuition Price: $25, $20 for SCC Members
