The City of Newton invites performers of all levels – from students to professionals – to apply for participation in our 2026 Concerts and Community Performances programs. This initiative celebrates local and regional talent while offering free, high-quality arts experiences for residents and visitors throughout the year.

Performance opportunities take place across a range of City events and public spaces, including Newton SpringFest, the July 4th Celebration, Performances in the Park, Harvest Fair, and more. We welcome applications from professional performers, instructional studios, community groups, and individual artists working in music, dance, theater, spoken word, and other creative disciplines.

We invite you to apply for Newton Artful Pianos 2026, a joyful citywide public art initiative that brings together visual art and music. Selected artists will transform donated upright pianos into vibrant, one-of-a-kind works of art. These beautifully painted pianos will be placed in outdoor public spaces throughout Newton for the community to enjoy—and even play.

Whether you’re an experienced public artist or taking on your first large-scale project, this is a high-visibility opportunity to share your creativity and be part of a citywide celebration of art and sound.
