Each year, the Newton Cultural Council (NCC)—a municipally appointed volunteer committee—awards grants to projects that strengthen Newton’s cultural life. As part of the Massachusetts Cultural Council’s Local Cultural Council Program, the NCC works with the City of Newton Arts & Culture Department to support artists, organizations, and creative initiatives across the city. Funding comes from both the City of Newton and the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
